We are With You, and we have designed a collection of transitional objects to support families dealing with separation anxiety.
Welcome to this “joint operation”
Our bespoke transitional objects, our ToycessoriesⓇ as we like to call them, are accompanied by a ritual that supports joyful connection at times of separation.
This is how our ritual works:
Every morning (or any parting/anxious moment), the parent or caregiver and child can use their WITH YOU Toycessory® as part of a short, comforting goodbye ritual.
Together, they hold the necklace or clip-on and recite the meanings behind each charm. For example:
“A heart because I love you. A wand for a magical day. A pom-pom for fun, and a carrot in case you get hungry — but don’t eat this one!”
This playful script creates a moment of presence, warmth and joy before separation, helping the child feel grounded, connected, and reassured.
Throughout the day, the necklace or clip-on stays with the child (attached to a book bag, worn around the neck or kept inside the soft storage bag), offering tactile comfort, emotional support and a reminder:
“I am with you”
How can you, their teacher, help?
Throughout our product testing, we became painfully aware of the fact that this is a "joint forces" operation.
Among our “testers”, the children who benefited most from our transitional objects were those whose teachers understood the product's role, supported their students’ needs, and allowed them to wear/carry their Toycessory® with them at school.
We found that not only did children feel comforted, become calmer and ready to learn, but their school refusal eased, and their attendance improved dramatically.
We have concluded that the success of this operation depends on the children being able to carry their Toycessory® with them during their school day. And so we would like to kindly request that you allow your student to wear/carry their Toycessory® while they are in your class and at school.
To ease your mind, please note:
- Our Toycessories® can be worn during the school day, either around the neck or clipped on a belt loop, and we recommend that they are removed during PE, swimming or playground breaks if physical activity is anticipated.
- When they are not worn, they can be stored in the specially provided soft bag.
- The Necklace has a “breakaway” clasp that opens when pulled, and it is safe against choking.
- We call them Toycessories® ( toy & accessory) as they have been independently tested to the highest UK, EU and USA Toy Safety Standards, and are approved for ages 3+.
